IDENT Technology enables semiconductor and original equipment manufacturer customers and partners to add our sensor technology to their products. Our proximity detection and gesture control solutions are available to license as intellectual property.
Below are some examples of products using our technologies.

Mobile phone
In the mobile phone or smart phone, we can make them even smarter. Our ULPP (ultra low power proximity) sensor is the world's first to truly distinguish between when a device is actually being used, and when it is just being transported, say in a shirt or jacket pocket. It also:
- activates the display only when the phone is picked up, so that the user can see who is calling,
view the clock or viewing new messages
- can automatically answer a call just by picking up the handset and moving it close to the ear
- can automatically switch to standby mode when the phone is placed down on a table or in a pocket
In this example, our grip and proximity sensor allows manufacturers to provide new design options and greater freedom, a smaller battery and significant cost advantages. In conjunction with this ULPP proximity detection enables high range and cost advantages compared to infrared, and is independent of light conditions.

Computer mouse
In the computer mouse, IDENT Technology’s ULPP solution acts like a body switch, detecting the presence of a human hand. As soon as the hand nears the mouse, it switches the device on; when the hand moves away from the mouse, power to the device is automatically switched off or to standby mode.
In this way, ULPP can save up to 90% of power consumption compared to a typical optical sensor, and in addition we also enable a faster response time after wake-up.

Digital camera
In a digital camera or camcorder which incorporates our ULPP technology, the proximity of a human hand can automatically switch the screen display on. As the hand moves away, the screen can be shut down. This can considerably improve standby time and reduce the size of battery needed for the product.

Game controller
In a game controller, our technology can detect the presence of a human hand to switch on the controller or a predefined application. As the hand moves away the controller or application can be switched off or to standby mode. This opens up possibilities for new games and new design options, lower cost controllers, and of course smaller battery or longer battery life.
